Over the past week, rumors of Link's genitalia have been greatly exaggerated.

There's been quite a bit of chatter about Zelda character Link's balls thanks to a viral video in which Link, fighting a Hinox in Tears of the Kingdom, gets hit and falls to the ground. As he tumbles, the camera, pointed at his back, catches what appears to be an honest-to-God package on the androgynous Hero of Hyrule.

Here, we'll break down what's happening with this viral clip, and answer the question once and for all…

No.

So what's happening here? On July 14th, TikToker @loonathemoon posted the clip in question.

When Link falls to the ground in the clip, it sure looks like his package is snugly held by his pants, and furthermore, his testicles seem to "jiggle" as Link bounces on the ground.

This was enough to solidify the idea that Nintendo gave Link's testicles "jiggle physics," an infamous term that is usually associated with breasts, particularly in anime, where animators will sometimes go above and beyond to make a woman's breasts jiggle in unnatural ways when she's moving.

After days of jaws dropping over the idea Nintendo gave Link a serious package in Tears of the Kingdom, experts weighed in and clarified that it was likely not the case. Game developer Joakim "konjak" Sandberg offered the theory that Link's torso is clipping through his blue tunic as he bounces in recoil from the Hinox hit, resulting in the illusion of "ball physics."

Furthermore, Twitter user @kaede_kairi downloaded Link's model to investigate whether she could find Link's balls. Despite spreading his legs open and zooming in on his crotch, she was unable to detect the outline of a package. He's smooth as a Ken doll down there.

Sadly (for some), the dream of Link's balls appears to be dead, but there's still so much more of Link to love.
