What's since become known as the Woman Climbing Through Window video has captivated international audiences. Rowland's fail just hits too close to home. People everywhere see themselves in her clumsy antics.
However, where did the original video come from? Who is Lisa Rowland and how did she get stuck in a window? Let's explain.
What's The Original 'Woman Climbing Through Window' Video?
The original video shows two women somewhere in the U.K. trying to get into a home through a window. One woman lifts the other into the window where she gets stuck hanging upside down.
Then, as if things couldn't get any worse, the hanging woman's shirt is taken by gravity, exposing her chest to the world. Eventually, she's able to cover herself and get down from the precarious position.
Where Did The 'Woman Climbing Through Window' Video Come From?
The original video was allegedly posted to Facebook first, sometime on Wednesday. It racked up more than 10 million views on the platform before it was taken down by the site's moderation team. This is known because the actual woman in the video, Lisa Rowland, outlined the viral spread on the news show This Morning.
After it went viral on Facebook, the video quickly moved to X and Reddit where more people engaged with it and laughed. On both platforms, the video earned memes and reactions some of which stated that it was "Absolutely brilliant."
What Did Lisa Rowland Say On 'This Morning?'
Lisa Rowland is the name of the woman in the video and, as stated, she made a guest appearance on the British talk show This Morning today. The hosts asked her plenty of questions, like, when was the video filmed? Apparently, it was shot in June of last year.
So, why did it spread now? According to Rowland, she'd only shared the video amongst friends. Somehow, it leaked outside of her circle and an unknown Facebook user named Ruth from Northern Ireland posted it this week. That's when it racked up over 10 million views. From there, it was a viral sensation.
Rowland also explained why she was going through the window in the first place. That day, she needed to use the bathroom but forgot her keys inside. That's why she was moving with such urgency.
