The original post racked up more than 17,000 likes since it was created in October 2023. Plus, Philb also posted an Instagram Reel on the same day that amassed more engagement — roughly 58,000 likes, which accrued over the same timeframe.

Also, Philb has built on the character's design over the past few months. He posted a Christmas version of the character and even a backward version.

What's The 'My New Character' Meme On TikTok?

Over the past few weeks, a TikToker named @.blitzerzz adopted the meme and has given the character a new life via photo slideshows and viral videos. The Twitter artist's inside joke is quickly becoming a TikTok meme as others join the trend.

My New Character has become what's called an "exploitable," meaning that meme creators are inserting him into different meme templates and formats, spreading his likeness outside of the original image.

In turn, others on TikTok have evolved the meme, and the artist Philb has even noticed.

In a recent tweet, Philb said that a lot of things are irritating him about his meme's TikTok fame, but the worst thing might be renaming him "My New Character." "He is chill guy," Philb urged.
