From fan art, reaction videos, debate about new character designs and, of course, an expressive number of memes, here's everything about Hades II.
What's The Hades II Game About?
Hades II is a direct sequel to Hades (2020), it follows Melinoë, Princess of the Underworld and sister to Zagreus, the protagonist of the first game. Melinoë aims to defeat Chronos, the Titan of Time, with the aid of other Olympian Gods.
How Fans Reacted To Hades II's New Character Design?
On April 17th, 2024, Supergiant Games released part of the Hades II game as a technical test that gave fans their first look at the new character design of the Greek Gods. The updated artwork of the Gods became a viral topic on X, as user @belllmonts shared some of the new drawings, captioning "the new god portraits in hades 2 are so tasty" (shown below, left), which amassed over 56,000 likes and 12,000 reposts in two weeks.
The new art style inspired other artists to create fan art based on Hades II design, as X user @midnigtartist shared a Baldur's Gate 3 fan art of the character Gale as if he was a Hades II character (shown below, right), amassing roughly 8,300 likes and 1,700 reposts since posted on April 20th, 2024.
What Hades II Memes Are Being Shared On The Internet?
Even prior to_Hades II_ early access release, fans of the game have been posting memetic content on social media, in particular a "kids had their fun already, now it's real men's turn" meme recaptioning the word "kids" for "bisexuals" and "grown ups" for "bisexuals" too (shown below).
You see, 2020 Hades game also explores the diverse sexuality that was implied by the Greek myths; Zagreus is bisexual and in certain routes polyamorous. This key aspect of the game's story is mentioned in an article from The Gamer, claiming Hades II "Is going to be a red letter day for bisexuals."
TikTokers are also having fun with Hades II memes, like user @thelonewolfsamurai9, who shared how they feel while playing the game (seen below, left). TiKToker @senpapi.gabe decided to share a recap about the previous Hades game (seen below, right) in a more comedic tone.
