Dogs are an essential part of memes and online culture. As of late, one dog breed is accumulating content. Meet the Borzoi, also known as the dog with the long nose. These lanky creatures seem to have been made for one purpose only: to be photographed with a wide-angle lens and set to Miss Piggy singing Cellophane (of all things). Of course, this would later become known as the "Let Me Do It For You" meme that's since become a massive earworm.

Of course, many dog breeds have gotten their time in the spotlight, like Pugs, Shiba Inus, and Pitbulls, but now, on Instagram and TikTok, the Borzois are taking their rightful thrones.

Where Did Borzoi Memes Come From?

Like any good dog meme (like Doge), it all starts from one enthusiastic owner who wants to share their companion with the world. For Borzois, this happened on Vine in 2016, when a dog named Esper first surfaced on the account of Viner @j_ethan. One video in particular, called "My little Russian lady," went mega-viral and is still reposted in the modern day.

Starting in 2018, the owner of a different Borzoi named Lapsha started posting photos of their dog to the account @loopsnoot. Lapsha's owner made it a habit of posting pictures where the camera was close up to the end of the dog's nose, utilizing their iPhone's 0.5 lens to make the dog look hilarious.

Meme creators on Instagram began screenshotting and then captioning the wide-lens photos, often using Impact font or Whisper text. And thus, memes about Borzois surfaced en masse.

How Did Borzoi Memes End Up On TikTok?

Borzoi memes have pretty much spread to every social media site by 2023 and are now especially potent on TikTok. The TikTok virality was (oddly enough) jumpstarted by the lilgayboy45 trend. This is because people started to make any 'Adjective + Animal + Number' TikTok account, leading to the creation of Lord Foog the 2st, who'd randomly come up mid-stitch.

From Lord Foog the 2st (which originally surfaced on Instagram), the Borzois of TikTok were everywhere all of a sudden. Amid the content storm, even Esper's old Vines resurfaced, set to Miss Piggy singing "Cellophane" as the animal dug through a Pringles can.
