Slideshows have become some of the most popular posts on TikTok, but sometimes, users hide inappropriate images in the slides following the first. Recently, this has inspired the now viral Avatar slideshow, a much-talked-about post that begins with an innocent enough image from the movie Avatar followed by something much less innocent. Here's what you need to know.

What Is TikTok's 'Avatar Slideshow?'

In mid-July, a TikToker posted an Avatar-themed slideshow starting with a spicy yet safe-for-work image of the second film, Avatar: The Way of Water's Netayam. The image does not appear to come from the movie, but was potentially made using artificial intelligence.

The second image in the slideshow depicts the same character, only this time, he is without clothes, fully exposing himself to the viewer. The slideshow went viral, gaining thousands of likes before it was removed from the platform. It was likely removed for breaking the app's terms of service, which forbid revealing content like this.

How Is The 'Avatar Slideshow' Used In Memes?

Word of the Avatar slideshow quickly spread across TikTok, inspiring reaction videos to it. In the majority of reaction videos, the subject is shocked after opening the second slide, not expecting Netayam to go full frontal. Although the original video was deleted, it's been reposted across Twitter.

The slideshow also sparked a trend on TikTok, where users upload similar slideshows featuring new images of exposed Avatar characters. The videos often end up getting deleted, meaning if you saw one come up on your FYP, it's likely not going to be around for long.
