Slang overload jokes get increasingly obscure and indecipherable with time, and TikTok's Sticking Out Your Gyat For The Rizzler is no different. Sung by what sounds like an elementary schooler, the song has been ripping through TikTok with a popularity that rivals that of each of the song's composite parts.

If the words "gyat," "rizzler," skibidi," or even "fanum tax," are indecipherable to you, here's a refresher on the song parody that's probably your iPad baby cousin's song of the year.

Where Does The 'Sticking Out Your Gyat For The Rizzler' Song Come From?

Back in July 2021, a Soundcloud user named SUICIDAL-IDOL posted a song titled "ecstasy." The song slowly grew popular over time, with people being drawn to its irreverent vocals and phonk-adjacent beat. "Slowed" remixed of the song went viral on YouTube and eventually gained traction on TikTok.

In October 2023, TikToker @ovp.9 posted a video where his Fornite character can be seen dancing to his rendition of a parody cover of "ecstasy," a cover featuring numerous pieces of Gen Z slang.

What Does "Gyat," "Rizzler," "Skibidi," and "Fanum Tax" Mean?

The song is riddled with Gen Z slang that is not immediately comprehensible to any sane person. Gyat is a slang term popularised by streamer Kai Cenat, and is generally used to refer to someone's behind.

Rizzler is a Rizz Nickname wherein "rizz" stands for someone's charisma, especially when it comes to picking up women. Thus, a "rizzler" is someone adept at "rizzing" people up.

Skibidi Toilet is a viral internet meme hugely popular with young children, and typically features animated TV headed people battling heads sticking out of toilets.

Finally, Fanum Tax is a meme that went viral soon before the parody song dropped, and translates to the phrase "Phantom Tax."

You know, I was talking to my friends a few weeks back about slang and generational lingo. I get that this happens with every generation, the new ones have new terms that sound odd to older people not exposed to what those younger than them are.

But, at least when I compare slang from my parents generation, the 1960s to 1980s, I can at least see similarities and I think both sides can get an idea of what most of our vernacular is by looking at the word and going "Ok, I can see why you used that".

Like my parents didnt say Dude or Radical when they were young, but they got what I was saying when I said it.

How the hell does anyone just know what "Rizz" means? Or Fanum Tax, which is apparently just a thing originating from an in joke from a streamer?

I just have a bad case of "The Olds" I guess.
