The video game Geometry Dash has a massive fanbase on TikTok and recently, one of their memes went mainstream. The meme in question is the normal difficulty face drawing, an amateur drawing of one of the most well-known images in the game that stuck out to a lot of people who originally saw it pop up on X (formerly Twitter). What Is The 'Geometry Dash Normal Difficulty Face' Meme?

In late September, 2023, X user @WidviIky posted a drawing they did around the age of six or seven. The drawing shows the various "difficulty level" faces used in the game Geometry Dash to denote what difficulty the player is playing at. In the caption they write, "I just found this drawing that I did when I had 6 or 7 and I’ve been crying everytime I see the normal difficulty," referencing the green smiley face found in the upper-righthand corner of the drawing.

The post went viral with over 71,000 likes in a few weeks as people seemingly agreed that the normal difficulty face shown in the drawing was hilariously bad. What really makes it stand out is the uneven shading around the mouth, which looks a lot darker than the rest of the face. From there, TikTokers found the post and started spamming it on the site, sparking a meme.

How Is The 'Normal Difficulty Face' Drawing Used In Memes?

While the normal difficulty face has been the subject of a few redraws and memes on X, it's mostly taken off on TikTok. Many of the videos simply share the face, sometimes comparing it to the original, under an original sound related to the recent it's coming out meme, where a distorted version of the phrase "screaming in public restrooms prank" plays.

Some other popular examples include a TikToker showing off how they printed out dozens of copies of the face for some unknown, likely devious reason, a video where someone makes the face in Roblox and a video where a TikToker makes the devil vortex saws pattern using the faces.
