What Is The 'Hole In One Challenge' On TikTok And Why Is It So Dangerous?
Every once in a while, a dangerous challenge like the skull breaker challenge or the blackout challenge reportedly goes viral on TikTok, forcing professionals to step in. Recently, word has spread about the dangerous new "hole in one challenge" after a teen purportedly ended up in the hospital after trying it. Here's what you need to know.
What Is The 'Hole In One Challenge?'
On February 2nd, TikToker @baldnewsnetwork posted a video warning viewers not to do the "hole in one challenge." He yells at his viewers, "don't do it, don't look it up," and even "rest in peace," suggesting someone died doing it. If you're reading this, you probably ignored his advice and want to know what the hole in one challenge is.
In the video, the TikToker is standing in front of an Instagram post by the New York Post. The post shares a story about an Australian teen who had to have a golf ball removed from his intestine after he put it up his anus. Doctors were able to remove the golf ball using lots of laxatives and he sustained no injuries, but probably a lot of embarrassment.
Is The 'Hole In One Challenge' Real?
The only report of the hole in one challenge is the video by @baldnewsnetwork where he reacts to the New York Post story. There are a few other "hole in one challenges" on TikTok if you type it into the search bar, but none of them have to do with putting a golf ball into your anus. Some of them involve throwing a beanbag into a hole situated at a man's testicles, though, which is arguably equally inadvisable.
What's more, the New York Post article makes no mention of the teen putting the golf ball in his anus for a TikTok challenge. So, as of now, it seems like there is no deadly hole in one challenge and @baldnewsnetwork was just joking around. Feel free to release a sigh of relief, now.
