On his last day in Congress, former Congressman George Santos decided to pose next to an anti-LGBTQ+ transphobic sign by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene that says "There are two genders" and "Trust the Science!" phrases. Santos also posted a video to social media about it (shown below), which quickly amassed over 20 million views and 4,700 likes on X in just four days.

Just a few hours after Santos' video posing next to the transphobic sign, countless memes and jokes were already going viral on social media featuring him doing a peace sign in front of the hateful message. For example, on November 30th, X user @CaelanConrad replied to the politician's post, referencing the whiteboard next to Santos (shown below). The post amassed more than 51,000 likes and 2,500 retweets in four days.

After that, @CaelanConrad's tweet inspired other users to share their version of the George Santos meme. For example, on the same day, X user @greenishtoe used the whiteboard to replace the "Male & female" phrase with "Eat hot chip and lie."
