What Is The 'Fav Princess Peach Filter?' TikTok's Banned '777 Filter' Explained
A very shocking filter has been banned from TikTok after becoming the viral subject of reactions on the app. The Fav Princess Peach Filter was removed from the app yesterday after users discovered that it was nothing more than a way to share rule 34 Super Mario content on the platform. Here's what you need to know.
What Is The 'Fav Princess Peach' Filter?
The "Fav Princess Peach" filter was a 777 filter on TikTok that gained viral acclaim on May 23rd, 2023 and was deleted that same day. Before it was deleted, numerous TikTokers uploaded heavily censored videos reacting to it with shock and laughter. But why did the videos need to be blurred?
Well, the filter, which gives users two different images of Princess Peach and tasks them with nodding their heads toward the image they like better, was exposing users to rule 34 images of the princess. If you tilt your head to one image, the other image changes to an inappropriate image of Peach and continues to do so with every head tilt. Considering this, it's fairly obvious why TikTok banned it.
How Is The 'Fav Princess Peach' Filter Used On TikTok?
The "Fav Princess Peach" filter is only one of many "777 filters" that have gone viral on TikTok this month. Other variations of the filter do the same thing, only with characters from other media properties. TikTok has been cracking down on them as fast as possible, but they just keep slipping through the cracks.
Thankfully, we've got some good reactions out of the filters. The videos may be heavily edited, but the looks on TikTokers' faces as they discover what the filter is are priceless and have been gaining millions of views over the past two days. Will the explosion of 777 filters be remembered on TikTok as the next December 22nd incident? Only time will tell.
