Okay, in all honesty, it's not that serious. But hating on KSI is the hot new trend right now. So, let's explain what the song is, where it came from and why people are mocking it.

KSI originally teased his new song at the end of August when he took the stage at a DAZN event with rapper Trippie Redd (who's featured on the track). The video didn't get much attention at the time.

Last week, however, KSI uploaded a snippet of his new song to YouTube, showing himself in a recording studio setting, letting it all out into a hanging microphone. It didn't get that many views on YouTube. Rather, it was reposted to Twitter / X and TikTok where people mostly made fun of it.

Then, on Thursday, after all the hype, KSI dropped the full-length song and music video to his YouTube. In less than a day, it racked up over 700,000 views.

Why Are People Hating On KSI?

People are hating on KSI because of a recent controversy. Last month, the YouTuber, along with fellow YouTubers Logan Paul and MrBeast, launched a Lunchables competitor called Lunchly. Of course, it's marketed to children (it's a school lunch). The trio seemingly wants their influence among Gen Alpha to fuel the rise of their business ventures.

Old school Minecraft YouTuber DanTDM decided to levy his take on the Lunchly launch, ultimately criticizing the YouTubers for selling low-quality products to kids who don't know better.

KSI and Paul were seemingly thrilled about a little internet squabble increasing the visibility of their product's launch. In turn, the two (but more so KSI) have kept the beef on life support, throwing shade at DanTDM's way who has literally only said one thing.

In turn, the internet (who are nostalgic for DanTDM at large) are taking DanTDM's side and labeling KSI a cringe coper. And, as it's obvious that KSI wants to promote his song, some are starting to speculate that he's keeping the beef going to inflate his single's view count.

What Are Some Memes With KSI's New Song?

Many of the memes using KSI's "Thick Of It" are surfacing on TikTok. There, meme creators are mocking the reportedly vapid and generic sound of KSI's rapping and instrumental. Some are joking that it'd be perfect in the Minecraft Movie soundtrack (which is another piece of media being labeled a soulless money grab).

Similarly, other memes imagine the people who might like the song, attesting that the only people who would are probably also fans of the Talk Tuah podcast. In memes, that mostly use SpongeBob scenes, these listeners are drinking Prime, eating Lunchly and likely seconds away from saying, "Skibidi," unprompted.
