In the hallowed pantheon of wink wink, nudge nudge Don't Google memes that have taken off on TikTok in the past year, there is Goblin Cave, which definitely is something you shouldn't Google unless you know what it is and decide you want to see it.

Thus, the task falls upon us to explain what Goblin Cave is so you don't accidentally stumble upon something you don't want to know about — or maybe, you do. No judgment.

What Is Goblin Cave?

Goblin Cave is a yaoi hentai web series created by animator Sana (for the less up on their anime-lingo, it means it's an animated homosexual male pornography series). It's been around since at least 2020 and has multiple episodes.

The series was inspired by the opening episode of Goblin Slayer, a more traditional, slightly SFW anime that features a sexual assault in a goblin cave in the first episode (that takes place off-screen). Thus, Goblin Cave opens in a goblin cave, and it does show all the gnarly bits.

How Has Goblin Cave Been Memed?

Unlike the show, memes about Goblin Cave are very SFW (which is why they can be allowed on sites like YouTube and TikTok), but this may be done intentionally to mislead viewers into thinking it's a normal anime series.

Most Goblin Cave memes recut SFW shots from the series into trailers making it look like a tragic adventure anime. Some edits make it clear that it's just a joke, and some don't.

The series recently saw a surge in interest thanks to a TikTok by @stanzipotenza, which dropped Goblin Cave into a sketch about an FBI investigator following her life and being very surprised and disappointed.

The video may have made some viewers Google Goblin Cave, and if you're one of them, now you can make an informed decision on whether you want to investigate further.
