A strange new series of memes has started taking over TikTok and parts of Reddit and it comes from the Friday Night Funkin' and Five Nights at Freddy's community. The meme is known as Bear5 and the absurdity behind the meme is confusing viewers across platforms. Here's what you need to know about Bear5.

What Is 'Bear5?'

Back in February, Friday Night Funkin' modder KiwiQuest came out with a FNAF parody mod for the game called Bear5. The mod features a rap battle between a blue-tinted Freddy Fazbear known as "Bear5" and a green-tinted Foxy.

The mod gained a considerable fanbase over the following months, inspiring fan art and a growing stream of memes. It also inspired another mod by modder U_Sauu, titled Bear5 Retake.

How Is 'Bear5' Used In Memes?

Around late June 2023, memes referencing Bear5 became popular on TikTok. The memes are inherently absurd and meaningless, often featuring a low-resolution version of Bear5 screaming or flashing imagery of Bear5. Some of the videos started gaining hundreds of thousands of views, spreading them to the FYP and outside of its niche community.

The memes are essentially made to be as strange and grating as possible, with no real reason behind them.
