The earliest known mentions of the Bee and Barb incident were posted by TikTokers @dunmerdaph and @argonian_lifts_her_tail in mid-July 2023. The posts are slideshows that recount walking into the Skyrim tavern "The Bee and Barb" on August 22nd, 2018 at 9:00 PM and being traumatized.

Dunmerdaph's post in particular gained a significant number of views and tons of comments asking what exactly happened in the tavern on that day. Nobody could answer, leading many to believe that nothing at all actually happened. Most likely, the video is simply a trolling effort meant to bait and gaslight viewers into thinking the incident exists when really, it does not.

How Is The 'Bee And Barb August 22nd' Incident Used In Memes?

Although the incident likely isn't referring to anything, some TikTokers are rolling with it and making their own videos referencing the allegedly traumatizing event that took place on August 22nd, 2018 at 9:00 PM. The videos are all vague and never go into any detail about what happened, encouraging viewers to comment asking for context and, in turn, boosting engagement on the videos.

Dunmerdaph, one of the first TikTokers to ever reference the incident, even made another video on it recently about their response to people asking about the incident, using a video of a woman saying, "That's a great question, I've been wondering that myself" as their response, further suggesting that nothing notable happened in Skyrim on August 22nd, 2018.
