Before brainrot took over the internet this year, there were a few viral memes following a similar characteristic of replacing some words in popular catchphrases, like the controversial Krill yourself meme.

The Happy Feet 2 scene in which a krill denies that he looks the same as the other krill, saying, I am one in a krillion inspired netizens to create other krill puns jokes, and we'll explain everything about it in this article.

What Does 'Krill Yourself' Mean?

The "Krill yourself" catchphrase is an algospeak slang expression that combines the suggestion to kill oneself with the I'm One in a Krillion meme format. The earliest known of two krill shrimps staring intently captioned "Ermmmmm, krill yourself?" was posted on March 2023 on IFunny, borrowing the structure from the "Erm… What the deuce?" meme format. How Did 'Erm Krill Yourself' Become A Viral Catchphrase Meme?

Krill puns saw a viral spread in late March and April 2023 with multiple reposts on IFunny and X, with users sharing reaction GIFs and images featuring it. For example, Redditor f1shb01 posted a meme in /r/okbuddyretard about the "krill yourself" phrase (shown below, left) and X user @DACLIUM posted an edited version of a man breaking chains meme (shown below, right).
