That July, Tumblr user flashcs5 posted a Breaking Bad webcomic where Gus Fring tells Walter and Jesse, "It's Pride Month, you know what that means." Walter reacts with confusion, asking, "Do you want us to make like, gay meth?"

The post gained over 47,000 notes on Tumblr, but didn't go viral outside the platform until Twitter user @dcsh4_pvr posted it at the beginning of June 2023. The post gained over 57,000 likes in just a week and sparked a trend where artists began redrawing it with characters from their favorite fandoms.
