Was Jschlatt In Utah On His Birthday? Memes About Jschlatt's Death Predictions Explained
Jschlatt's fans believe he has done it again. Fans of the YouTuber, who is best known for his role in the Minecraft SMPLive community, never forgot that he once joked about Prince Philip’s health and then watched the royal die weeks later.
Since then, they've cast him as the internet's unluckiest prophet, linking him to everything from Queen Elizabeth II's passing to the death of Pope Francis.
The latest iteration of the meme hinges on the fact that conservative political activist Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on Jschlatt's 26th birthday, and fans sharing jokes about him being in Utah Valley at the time of the incident are not helping matters.
Here's a recap of every time Jschlatt has been called the "Grim Reaper" due to his timely coincidences.
Who Is Jschlatt, And What Are His "Death Predictions"?
The pattern began in March 2021, when Jschlatt responded to reports of Prince Philip's declining health by tweeting, "I reckon April will be an interesting month" on March 16th. When Philip died on April 9th, fans declared Schlatt had predicted it.
A year later, the joke snowballed. When Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8th, 2022, Schlatt tweeted a photo of himself giving a thumbs up on a plane with the caption, "On my way home from the UK. Love that place!" and followed with a tongue-in-cheek tweet that read, "RIP Queen Elizabeth. I want to reiterate that I had absolutely nothing to do with this."
For good measure, the YouTuber filmed a TikTok insisting on his innocence, telling over 7.6 million viewers that he had "absolutely nothing to do" with the Queen's passing.
The gag resurfaced in April 2025 when Pope Francis died. Reddit users in the subreddits /r/196 and /r/jschlatt circulated doctored screenshots of Schlatt supposedly predicting the Pope's death with the same "interesting month" phrasing.
They also mocked up versions of his famous thumbs-up plane selfie, this time claiming he was leaving the Vatican.
The rumors spread to TikTok as well, where on April 21st, TikToker @imtxyy uploaded a fake Schlatt tweet reading, "All I'm saying is April will be an interesting month for Pope Francis," which pulled in over 5 million views and 1 million likes in the following months.
When Is Jschlatt’s Birthday, And Was He In Utah When Charlie Kirk Died?
More recently, Jschlatt turned 26 on September 10th, 2025, the same day conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was fatally shot while speaking during an event at Utah Valley University.
Schlatt fans pounced on the coincidence within minutes, with X user @drishitposting circulated a fake Jschlatt tweet that read, "My birthday will be an interesting day for Charlie Kirk," amassing over 2 million views and 130,000 likes in a single day.
Schlatt marked his birthday with a celebratory post, which only further fueled the rumor mill and jokes. That same day, X user @zxxume tweeted, "it somehow always comes back to him," gathering over 17,000 likes in a day.
Others joined in as it continued to spread, including X user @sonochichi, who shared an old fan photo with Schlatt, captioned to suggest they met in Utah Valley on September 10th.
The post added fuel to speculation that he had been in the area, despite no evidence beyond the memes themselves, and so far, Schlatt himself has not responded to the whirlwind of memes joking about him being there.
