Have you ever wanted to read the phrase "corn dildo"? Well, now you have, and that brings us to the infamous "Country Girls Make Do" meme.

Since it emerged in late 2017, you might've seen the lewd meme in an image macro format or simply as a standalone catchphrase with little context, but despite its age, Country Girls Make Do has somehow managed to remain somewhat relevant all these years later.

So what exactly does "Country Girls Make Do" mean, where did it originate from and why did it become a source for memes around the internet? Let's explain.

What Is The "Country Girls Make Do" Meme?

"Country Girls Make Do" was inspired by a cartoon drawn by German artist and illustrator Toni Greis in 2014. The picture shows a woman, buttcheek hanging out of her dress, walking away from a wet stalk of corn in a field. The implication is she just masturbated using the cornstalk.

Three years later, in August 2017, another Facebook user posted the drawing captioned, "City girls buy vibrators / Country girls make do," creating an image macro meme.

This became an exceptionally infamous image and phrase online, as anything related to corn seemed ripe to be turned into a "Country Girls Make Do" meme.

How Did The "Country Girls Make Do" Meme Develop?

Because the image that inspired the meme was pretty upsetting on a moral and artistic level to many viewers (or absurdly humorous), the phrase "Country Girls Make Do" became a sort of joking reminder of the picture's existence, and thus was applied liberally to any images of corn when spotted online.

The original image also became an exploitable, as people used their ingenuity to try and make it a more wholesome meme. Some found it a difficult task.
