Yesterday morning, the world received a new video from the Rock and it strangely had nothing to do with working out in the gym, tequila, or even mocking Kevin Hart. It appears that after meeting with Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris virtually, Dwayne Johnson has officially decided to endorse his first presidential candidate. In the video, Johnson refers to himself as an independent and centrist, and openly admits to voting for both parties in the past. While he never directly mentions Trump in his video, Johnson discusses how his late father's words on receiving respect made his decision to endorse Biden and Harris.

After sharing this news on Twitter, many of his fans and followers either admired him for showing support, or replied with anger for getting involved with politics. After releasing the video, he then tweeted to his follower that he won't block them, or yell back at any angry replies. With five weeks left until the election, we still have many unanswered questions. Will the Rock's large social media following actually impact Joe Biden's campaign? Will we ever see a President Dwayne Johnson? And lastly, should we all be calling him "DJ," like Senator Harris and Vice President Biden?

After the Rock shared his video, Biden responded with gratitude and a request to discuss cars at some point.

Harris thanked him for his endorsement and shared just how much of a fan she was of his movies.

Ryan Reynolds decided to show his support of his friend's video by getting a new hashtag going.

Kathy Griffin shared her own advice.

Elizabeth Warren was happy to welcome him to the team.

It appears he also endorsed tight shirts as well.

Naturally, the argument for celebrities to keep quiet about politics showed up.

Some felt that he had officially lost all of his likeability.

Of course, jokes had to be made about rock, paper, scissors.

Other users decided to diagnose the Rock with a personality disorder.

A request was made for the actor to meet with Trump.

To think this could have all been a lot easier for him, if he had just announced that he was running himself.

You can't sincerely think that celebrities need to keep quiet about politics and also support Donald Trump, who is more clueless about politics than even most of his fellow celebrities, yet wouldn't shut up about politics and political conspiracies during the entire Obama presidency, and then channelled that into becoming president with no prior experience in politics.

People only complain about actors having political opinions when it's an opinion they disagree with. Actors are people, and I have no problem with them using their wide audience and appeal to advocate for something they believe in. Worst case scenario, I find out an actor or other entertainer I like has opinions I strongly disagree with, and then I need to decide whether or not I'm okay with my dollars building up that person's fame and influence. I'd prefer that over unknowingly funding a celebrity who just silently donates to, say, a white supremacist or some other awful thing.

I'm pretty sure that the whole "Actors should stay out of politics" complaint sailed when Reagan was elected. And if not, it definitely sailed when a reality TV host was elected.

The Rock or any actor has the right to endorse whoever they want. I have the right to criticize their endorsment.

Did it sail in the same direction as Biden's ability to speak coherently?

I'm guessing you've never actually seen/heard Biden speak unedited. Give tonight's debate a try.
