Trump Auditions For 'Rocky' Remake
Welcome to another round of everyone's favorite gameshow: "What Did The President Just Tweet?" Well today was something different altogether. At 10:54 AM EST, the world got its first glance of our modern day Mona Lisa--a photo of Rocky Balboa's body with President Trump's face superimposed on it. While it remains unclear if the president is gearing up for an impeachment fight or using his power to request a Rocky remake starring himself, Twitter users found themselves completely confused and either applauded the President's sense of humor or mocked it entirely.
Piers Morgan even received a retweet from the president after he sent this out.
Trump supporters were eager to claim "fake news" after the media claimed the photo was "doctored."
Washington Post claims – without evidence – that
realDonaldTrump shared a “doctored” photo. https://t.co/iOvNdsFJIc
— Team Trump (

The president's son, Donald Trump Jr. joined in on the fun by also claiming the photo was real.
I’ve heard from reliable sources that it’s not doctored. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 https://t.co/0qbfNJOEMn

And then added a photoshopped image of Rep. Adam Schiff, who is currently leading the impeachment investigations against his father.
Not to be outdone,
RepAdamSchiff releases a clearly non-doctored photo of his own! https://t.co/YAwthGgxkp pic.twitter.com/58nMPczcar
— Donald Trump Jr. (

It was almost as if the media photoshopped the image themselves with the amount of jokes thrown their way.
Looking forward to the media fact-checking this picture because it is a Threat To The Republic™ https://t.co/CR6QLKp0lL

Clearly the photo brought a lot of joy to Trump supporters.
The media won't get this joke because they don't actually listen to anything Trump says. It's part of the reason why Trump brings joy to his supporters and the media can't understand why. #ROCKY https://t.co/VW1ywoOiyb

And had them finding older photographs for potential #tbt posts
Hey WAPO look not doctored! 2 champs!

Many were also happy to jump in and mock the situation entirely.

And had a lot of fun inverting the photo.
Right back at ya Donny

Some just found it outstanding that Trump found another way to confuse the whole nation.
I have to admit that I did not have "the president's big dumb pumpkin head on Rocky's body" on my Donald Trump Batshittery Bingo card

There were also social media comparisons to other world leaders.
I see Merkel & Trump both posted to social media around the same time today. The chancellor went with a clip from her talk on free speech in the digital age. The president went with a photoshop of his head on the body of Rocky Balboa.Leadership really does take many forms. pic.twitter.com/gvCWjAJ8yO

As it turns out, today is actually the anniversary of 'Rocky IV' which left many evaluating the plots of each film.
The president thinks he’s Rocky, but unlike Donald Trump, Rocky was willing to fight the Russians. https://t.co/L5otQfRpMW

Mass delusion, is actually all around.
The Trump-Rocky photo is pretty typical maga bro shitposting, which involves men who absolutely do not fit the standards of masculinity they needlessly revere, upholding them through a kind of mass delusion about what the rest of us see when they look at them.

Hold our beer.
Me: The president is slurring his words and seems to be losing his shit. Trump: Let’s photoshop a picture of me as Rocky. Me: Oh I feel much better now.

Which can also be seen as an argument for casting the president in a remake of the film.
I'd say the main difference between Trump and Rocky is that Rocky is easier to understand when he talks.

But if they did, they would have to cast him as Paulie.
Lol as if Trump would be a character in Rocky that wasnt Paulie😂 https://t.co/u6KMZUcJdC

Thankfully, some users were even able to make the image worse.
Not that anyone was asking, but I managed to make the Trump-as-Rocky photo worse pic.twitter.com/FjntxJjb8h

And also find him another film counterpart, should he look for another photo to "doctor."

That was a decoy, to make the press befuddled and talking nonsense while he went to Afghanistan.
