Any memer watching this week's Vice Presidential Debate between Mike Pence and Kamala Harris knew that the fly who hung out on Mike Pence's head for two minutes was going to be the meme of the week. One need only remember the saga of Ken Bone to understand just how obsessed the internet gets over slight deviations from the norm in election season. Sure enough, the jokes about the fly nearly instantly reached critical mass, going from enjoyable to insufferable in record time.

Elsewhere online, a very chill dude on a skateboard listening to Fleetwood Mac became an instant icon and notorious dictator Pol Pot began appearing in memes for some reason. Needless to say, it was a very diverse week, at least in terms of tone, for memes.
