Last night, the 71st Primetime Emmys were held in Los Angeles and hosted by FOX, which allowed for a very strange start to the evening. First, Twitter couldn't help but notice how much promotion the network was doing for the The Masked Singer, with the stars of the show parading on the red carpet. Second, because there was no host, FOX had Homer Simpson start the show to only be struck by a piano, which led Anthony Anderson of Black-ish to jump on stage and talk to a producer who then found Bryan Cranston to finish the opening.

Following this bizarre introduction, the show continued on its unexpected path by awarding Game of Thrones only two Emmys, and gifting Fleabag with several awards instead of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which many critics had predicted. Below are some of the best reactions to the night's many twists and turns.

Despite not having a host, FOX did pair up some of the best people to present at the ceremony.

The Game of Thrones cast arrived at their last Emmy's together and seemingly had a good time, despite not receiving the majority of awards they were nominated for.

Isaac Hempstead Wright not appearing on stage with the rest of the cast was very confusing to some.

And many couldn't help but equate Gwendoline Christie's outfit to Jesus.

Despite a final season that upset many fans, at least we have photos like this.

And one last final Emmy for Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister.

People couldn't believe that Amy Adams, nominated for Sharp Objects, lost out on another award.

Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner presented an award, and had the audience laughing at a line that wasn't intended to be a joke.

Michelle Williams gave a moving speech on fair pay in Hollywood.

And many couldn't help but applaud her.

However, the real winner of the night was Phoebe Waller-Bridge who received three Emmys for Fleabag and set Twitter on fire when presenting alongside Barry star, Bill Hader.

But in the meantime, this photo proves she at least belongs on Barry.

Jason Bateman received an Emmy for directing an episode of Ozark and also became a meme.

Natasha Lyonne confused many with her clapping.

Billy Porter and his hat made history after he won for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Pose.

But the best part of the evening goes to Ben Whishaw who won for A Very British Scandal and announced how hungover he was in his acceptance speech.

Especially because he's the voice of Paddington Bear
