Do you remember the outside, reader? It'll be spring soon. And the orchards will be in blossom. And the birds will be nesting in the hazel thicket. And they'll be sowing the summer barley in the lower fields… and eating the first of the strawberries with cream. Do you remember the taste of strawberries?

While we, like Samwise Gamgee, are on our quest to destroy the thing threatening the lives of all beings across Middle Earth, some have taken to remember the little things that have become impossible in quarantine. Twitter user Elan Gale kicked off a viral thread with the prompt, "Name one thing you'll never take for granted again," inviting users to share precious things they can't wait to get back to.

I miss hugs, high-fives, and eating lunch with people.

This isn't the usual context, but sorry for your loss. I never had any of that so I can't say I know how you feel, and if I did have any of that, I wouldn't know how you felt; your lunches, hugs, and high-fives would have been as different from mine as you are from me.

But, unlike the usual "sorry for your loss" situations, you can get those back eventually, without me trying to sell you something you may not believe in. We all just have to wait for "eventually" to come.

Yeah, most likely, this will be the world's Enlightening Trip to Africa. "Oh, all the suffering was so eye-opening, I appreciate what I have so much more now!"

And in a month we're all back to being shit.
