Upon reading the headlines today, one would assume we all woke up in the year 2016 today because it appears Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are running against each other again. In an article released today by The Hollywood Reporter, the former First Lady and Democratic Nominee for president discussed the new Hulu docuseries on her life that will premiere at this year's Sundance Film Festival. The topics that are covered in Hillary include Monica Lewinsky, her experience running for president in 2016 and her thoughts on Bernie Sanders.

In a series of quotes now circulating all over the internet, Clinton, when asked about Sanders, stated that "nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done. He was a career politician. It's all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it." In addition, when asked if she would be willing to endorse Senator Sanders should he win the 2020 nomination, Clinton answered, "I'm not going to go there yet." As soon as Twitter caught wind of the article, the hashtags #ILikeBernie, #ILikeHim, and #NobodyLikesHim began to trend leading many to respond with confusion, anger, and memes.

First came the reactions of many bothered by Clinton's assessment of Sanders in 2020.

Financial data was pulled to prove his likability.

Photographic evidence of Sander's rallies were also provided.

Some even used her words as incentive to like him even more.

There was also a call to condemn her comments.

Several users chose not to take the bait.

Conservative commentators were happy to chime in on the reignited feud as well.

Some users did embrace a stronger tone in response to Clinton's interview.

Many even suggested that she was just operating in jealousy after failing to win the 2016 election.

Many Sanders supporters were happy to point out how much he had assisted Clinton's campaign after she defeated him in the primary.

Some claimed Clinton was simply out of touch.

However, there were some who did agree with Clinton's opinion on Sanders.

There was a request for him to apologize to female candidates.

And for his "surrogates" to apologize as well.

Some just really wanted to know why we all cared about 2016 drama.

Regardless of how divisive her words may be, it appears Clinton has ushered in new support for Sanders' 2020 campaign.

After the press caught up with Sanders today following the article's release, the senator confirmed that his wife does like him.

It's amazing to think that we all have 287 days left of this.

This was really petty and stupid of Clinton to come out with at this point. Sure, she probably doesn't love Sanders, and he wasn't exactly eager to help her in 2016 even when the writing was on the wall for his own campaign, but the guy still eventually came around to her side and campaigned to support her. For someone who blames him for a lack of party unity in 2016, which lead to Trump narrowly winning, it's pretty hypocritical to start slamming him like this in 2020, especially when you aren't even running against him.

That said, people saying "I like Bernie" are not even reading the context of the statement. Her point is that nobody in congress likes him, and you might think "boohoo, why would anyone care what congress thinks?", but the point being made was that his lack of support in congress or willingness to compromise at all have resulted in him passing very little important legislation over his career, which is still a pretty legitamite thing to consider when voting for someone.

We're trying, but we get zombies like Clinton rising from the grave to remind Americans she's trying to be relevant. Obviously the NYT are center-right, and so are the news media since they are owned by telecoms. Bernie Sanders wants to challenge those telecoms, and for good reason, so they are doing everything they can to nickle and dime any publicity he has. Fucking Clinton just recently was like "I'm not gonna get into that" when discussing if she will support Bernie Sanders if he gets the Democratic nomination, when the only opposition to Sanders at that point is Donald Putin. When that time happens, they're not going to be openly advocating for Trump--that will be political suicide--but they will be pussyfooting around their distaste for Sanders and mutter "well, Donald Trump did give our wealthy companies tax breaks…"

In other words, there are divides which are silly, and there are divides which must be addressed, because it explains the disconnect between the wealthy and the commonfolk.

Or, oooooooor, hear me out: she KNOWS how unpopular she is, still supports Bernie, and is publicly ragging on him in order to get people to support him so as to spite her!

You know when Margaret Thatcher destroyed her reputation and that of her party for decades she had the decency to retreat into obscurity, maybe it's time for cranky aunt Hillary to do the same.

that's rich coming from the only person in the history of presidential candidate to lose to Donald Trump.

“No one likes Bernie Sanders” Yeah this coming from the woman who rightly has below a 40% favorable rating on Gallup and lost to Donald Trump for constantly bullshitting on things really dangerous to the country like her email servers and shady trade deals like the TPP. I don’t agree with Bernie on everything but anyone who thinks that that many people like her even compared to him need to be careful.

Good god, if Bernie wins, maybe he'll toss Yang in the cabinet somewhere and we can actually get UBI before AI automation wipes out half the white collar pencil-pushing jobs.
