Emma Watson Is Self-Partnered, Thank You Very Much
In a press tour for her upcoming film Little Women, Emma Watson sat down with British Vogue and discussed turning 30-years-old. In response to feeling the pressure of not having everything figured out by her next birthday, Watson confirmed that she is single and for the first time she is happy with her relationship status and refers to herself as "self-partnered."
After the article hit the internet, many Twitter users ate the new word up and couldn't help themselves from cracking jokes, while others applauded the actress and activist for empowering other single women around the world. Below is a collection of all of the reactions to the star's interview.
Not only did it become over-used, it immediately started to trend.
Some users gave the new word a different definition.
Even history jokes were being dropped.
Thank you for letting us know.
After reading the interview, some still preferred the term 'single.'

And some of our favorite brands responded with jokes of their own.

As well as puns.

To others, the term reminded them of Gwyneth Paltrow's new term for divorce.
This #SelfPartnered pretentious wank is the new 'conscious uncoupling'.You're fucking single, love. Maybe this is why.

Emma Watson describes herself as 'self-partnered' rather than single. I describe myself as ‘self-centred’ rather than selfish.

And yet, the actress was also met with tons of support from users on Twitter.
Emma Watson: Makes a very valid point about the absurd pressures placed on women with regards to expectations over family/partners and that being single is fine. The internet: #SelfPartnered!! LOL!!1!

All about being 'self partnered', I'm happy and single. Just because I'm nearing 30 does not mean I need to be married with kids. Thanks for coining this phrase Emma Watson ❤️

To them, the new term was more about self-worth than anything else.
When I was in my 20’s, an amazing woman told me life began for her at 30. She wasn’t wrong! 💃🏻 Thanks to Emma Watson for highlighting this issue. It’s so important for young women to know their self worth has absolutely nothing to do with their youth. ♥️ pic.twitter.com/nOzfMfWLIp

Whether you scoff at the term or not, it does sound pretty polite.

As always, Twitter remains the most interesting place to debate.
Emma Watson using the term "self partnering" sounds like someone who is reframing negative thinking to gain a kinder relationship to her self. But we should definitely tear her apart, can't let anyone get too cocky on Keanu Reeves Isn't Dating A 22 Year Old Bikini Model Day

Remember kids: women can be incels too. They just usually fall into that hole in a different way.
Guys get into a mental trap where they come to believe they're just not good enough to get a girl and so they don't put in the effort to improve, thus perpetuating the cycle.
Girls on the other hand, well, have you ever read the story of Narcissus and Echo? It's kind of like that, but swap the sexes of the characters. https://www.greeklegendsandmyths.com/echo-and-narcissus.html
TL;DR: Narcissus was a sexy boi, so sexy in fact, that he thought he was just too sexy to accept anyone as a lover. Eventually he found his reflection in a pond and fell in love with it. He then sat there, admiring himself until he either starved or jumped in to fuck himself and drowned. Some versions say he was so sad he couldn't fuck himself that he committed suicide.
