Last night, Dr. Oz was interviewed on The Sean Hannity Show to discuss the current pandemic that is affecting millions of lives around the world. However, one clip in particular from Wednesday evening's interview spread like wildfire on Twitter, leading many to respond with outrage. After Oz was asked about reopening America, he mentioned that schools would be an "appetizing opportunity" since it would allegedly only increase the mortality rate by 2-3%. He added that allowing children to go back to school would be a "trade-off" to consider because students would be "safely educated" and "fed."

The theoretical numbers that Oz provided came from a piece in the medical journal The Lancet, and while the interview may have aired last night, it only took many angry Twitter users a few hours to send "2-3%," Dr. Oz's name, and "Appetizing" to all trend for the entire day. As it was later pointed out, many users had misinterpreted Dr. Oz's words after thousands of tweets falsely stated that the celebrity doctor found it acceptable for 2-3% of children to die.

A majority of Twitter users were quick to react with anger, claiming that Dr. Oz had lost his mind by saying it was ok for "children to die."

Jokes about the Hippocratic Oath were made.

Some were really uncomfortable with Dr. Oz's choice to use the word "appetizing."

Many GIFs and videos were used to emphasize just how much people did not like Dr. Oz.

Twitter user @HankGreen was quick to clarify Dr. Oz's statements while also confirming that the doctor is in fact a "ghoul."

The statistic used was being misinterpreted, but the fact that people would still die from the virus was enough for people to still react with anger.

And while one mystery was solved, another which was pointed out on Twitter, remained.

It's not a sacrifice at all. In fact, for them, it's killing 3 birds with one stone. Their businesses resume, mass mortality reduces the dangerously high unemployment rate, and in the process, they develop herd immunity. That Prager psycho said "No one can die? Then it's not a war" regarding the pandemic. The rich literally want you to die.

Okay first: it's a school, it's a huge goddamn central gathering place full of impulsive kids who may not understand to social distance even if they don't have symptoms.

Second: It's a school, it's a huge goddamn central gathering place that would be a convenient way to deliver corona directly to your home, the mortality rate may ""only"" go up 2-3%(does anybody know how to do sarcasm in text?) but it will massively drag out the infections and bring them to people who otherwise wouldn't have got it. We still don't know what this disease can do, we still don't know the full extent of who is vulnerable.

Third: It's a school in the US, I don't know about you guys but schools around where I live have classroom sizes of 30+ how are you going to social distance with 35 kids to a room? How are you going to social distance with the lunch room, the hallways between classes?

FOURTH: How the hell do you get kids to the schools safely? School buses weren't designed for social distancing and they're often packed in tight. What about the bus drivers, every kid has to pass by them at the front of the bus. A lot of bus drivers are retired people, they're working that job because they want to make a bit of extra money and they're old.

Fifth: What are these statistics? is it 2-3% additively? If it is then that's 50% to 100% or more to the current death rate depending on where you're getting your numbers.

Closest we can get with sarcasm in text is fake HTML tags.

Example "Sonic 06 was Sega's best game"
