Britney Spears' Conservatorship Battle Sends #FreeBritney To Trend
Since 2008, Britney Spears has been under a conservatorship controlled by her father Jamie Spears. Today, many of her fans flocked to a downtown Los Angeles courthouse where a hearing is taking place to potentially remove that conservatorship. Those who cannot attend the hearing, have sent the hashtag #FreeBritney to trend on Twitter again. This hashtag originated in April 2019, following allegations made in the podcast Britney's Gram, that Jamie Spears had been abusing the popstar's finances and had sent her to a mental health facility against her will. Since April, Spears' mother Lynn, and sister Jamie Lynn have been liking comments on Instagram advocating for Spears' release from the conservatorship. Today, Lynn is expected to attend the hearing, which many Britney fans are celebrating below.

I get that these people are her fans and want to support her⦠but they don't know all the facts the court is using to determine that she's incapacitated and requires a conservator. That stuff obviously isn't going to be made public for them to review.

These #FreeBritney people should realize that she doesn't give a shit about any of them. She has a history of treating her fans like shit whenever they meet her in person (even when they get the chance to meet her backstage). They should save their energy and protest something that actually matters.
