Andrew Yang Endorses Joe Biden, And The Yang Gang Has Jokes
Former Democratic Presidential candidate and math enthusiast Andrew Yang endorsed Joe Biden for President late last night after Biden's strong showing in yesterday's round of states voting in the 2020 Democratic Presidential Primary. "The math says Joe is our prohibitive nominee," Yang said.
The move is not unexpected but still disappointing for many in the Yang Gang, who were drawn to Yang precisely because he represented a stark change from the typical, establishment-endorsed Democrat. As the Yang Gang was a notoriously online coalition, the news naturally led to some memes.
Many were disappointed that Yang would get behind Biden with Bernie Sanders not far behind in the race and many states still to vote.

You sold out, man. Very disappointing. Biden is literally the worst candidate for YOUR platform.

For his part, Andrew Yang took the time to respond to many critics of his decision.
People going after @AndrewYang when they should really go after their friends, relatives, & neighbors for not turning up to vote.Yang has no reason to respond to a single person & yet, this has been his entire morning. This is what true leadership looks & acts like. pic.twitter.com/oVRiNyIN3H

You’d think the free thousand dollars a month guy would team up with the other guy peddling free stuff.

I think he did like Sanders early on, but Sanders is kind of toast at this point, so there's not much to gain by going down with that ship. I imagine he thinks he will have more success moving toward his ideas if he gets a senior job in a Biden administration, or if he at least has the goodwill and ear of the president. Yang kind of seems like man of action, not just someone who wants to make symbolic political gestures. I think he's more interested in trying to get people in Washington onboard with UBI than he is in being an internet hero.
