Art is quite beautiful, it can be used to tell a story or convey a message, or just merely as a form of expression. The world is filled with various forms of art, from sculptures to monuments and ancient paintings, each of which has its own story and history. Reddit's /r/trippinthroughtime tries to give art a new meaning, by playfully adding new creative captions that provide witty and lighthearted observations.

In many of the historical paintings that you see, you'll notice that sometimes some of them look as if they have no idea how they got there, this is the primary sentiment that the entire subreddit is based on. This may be a bigger criticism of how out-of-place and oddly misplaced many people in historic art used to look, usually posing in awkward or odd positions, but regardless, the following memes still provide humor yet insightful commentary on contemporary art through the lens of the past.
