16 Pavement Princesses Spotted In The Wild
Picking up groceries, taking the kids to soccer practice, driving to and from a job where you sit under fluorescent lights and tap numbers into a machine: many Americans seem to believe this is the sort of lifestyle that you need a pickup truck to live. But people who really use pickup trucks for work have a word for vehicles whose only off-road experience is the Walmart parking lot: a pavement princess.
The term isn't just used by people who own trucks that have real dirt on their wheels. It's also used by people disturbed by the amount of fancy, massive trucks flooding the roads. Over the years pickup trucks have gotten heavier, taller, and stronger, leading to new incidents of trucks running over kids they don't see because they're so high up. These beloved trucks also are hard to park next to, and getting in an accident with one can be very dangerous.
But despite all the danger, there's an entertainment value to pavement princesses: on Reddit and other sites, users hunt down pavement princesses in the wild and photograph the most over-the-top examples. Whether the owners are overcompensating, bored, or just have too much money on their hands, nobody knows. But these proud parents of pavement princesses are parading them through the streets, and now across your screen.
