Severance, the Apple TV show which wrapped its first season, is partially inspired by a 4chan copypasta bit called The Backrooms and is one of a string in very dark psychological comedies to erupt on the scene. Directed by Ben Stiller and starring Adam Scott and Christopher Walken, the show has everything: office politics, egg parties and a LOST level of mysterious lore.

In a world where office workers can choose to sever their work memories from their home memories and identity, becoming two different people, a lot of odd complications ensue.
