Every year, the Met Gala is one of the biggest celebrity events. It's annual fundraiser where everyone is expected to dress beautifully and walk the red carpet. Predictably, the reception of the outfits was very mixed, especially since not many of them adhered to the theme of "gilded glamor." However, this theme is also being mocked online because it's being used as a throwback to the Gilded Age, a time in late 19th and early 20th century history where discrimination was high, particularly regarding both racial and class segregation, which feels uncomfortable for a bunch of rich elites to be pushing as their theme. Nevertheless, the night went on in a fairly normal fashion without any celebrities slapping other celebrities over a G. I. So maybe the theme was questionable, but it's admittedly a very easy one to follow when it comes to outfits. However, not many celebrities even bothered with it.
